Actionfigure
UI/UX Design
In addition to my role leading the Brand Design for the software startup, I had the opportunity to refresh the UI design for the company’s portfolio of B2B2C SaaS products. After strategizing and building a new brand identity for the company, I worked with the VP of Product and the Director of Engineering to refresh the design for Actionfigure’s mobile app, benefits selection software, and screen displays. Updates consisted of enhanced user flows, redesigned style guides, and iconography curation.

UI Refresh
At the time, Actionfigure had four different software products in its wheelhouse – Actionfigure Screen, Actionfigure Mobile, Actionfigure Insights, and MobilityScore®. I was able to redesign the UI and influence the UX for the entire product suite. Starting with Actionfigure Mobile for iOS, I underwent a 2 week sprint to redesign the main screens in the existing CityMotion app; a B2B2C app that acts as an extension of Actionfigure Screen offering key features such as nearby transit options and trip planning to tenants or employees.
While working alongside the VP of Product, Mobile iOS Developer, and Director of Engineering, I was able to create a comprehensive look and feel that aligned with the company’s visual identity but also create a lighter, fresher, and more modern approach to the UI design.
Mobile UX Flows
Although I primarily worked with the products’ UI design, I did have the opportunity to refresh some of the UX for Actionfigure Mobile. The process routinely consisted of starting from flowcharts and working through sketches, then into low-fidelity wireframes and into high-fidelity designs in Figma.
Below shows an example of my process of working through the UX for the new Trip Planning feature of Actionfigure Mobile.
Actionfigure Insights
& MobilityScore
Both Actionfigure Insights and MobilityScore are desktop products that have a UI design that was influenced by Actionfigure Mobile. Both products use custom designed maps and illustrations to showcase transportation data used for employers, office owners, and benefits providers.
Both products are designed for desktop first, but are responsive to smaller screen sizes.
Final Thoughts
As the engineering team works hard over the spring/summer of 2022 to build out these new designs, I can’t help but reflect on how far the Actionfigure product platform has come since the company’s rebrand in November 2021. The products are becoming much more elevated to match the same level of professionalism and cohesiveness as the visual and brand identity, which in return will strengthen the company’s product offerings, and hopefully, increase sales.
